The Full Story
Vivian Leow started her ballet training in Singapore at the age of 4. Recipient of the Singapore Ngee Ann Kongsi Scholarship, she continued her pre-professional dance studies from 13 years old in School Of The Arts Singapore. Under the tutelage of Liliana Roberta Durlai and Cheah Mei Sing, Vivian graduated with the Excellence Arts Award and Art Excellence Module Award in Classical Ballet in her cohort. Vivian was chosen to represent the school for a dance immersion at New Zealand School of Dance and Winter School under SOTA’s Arts Excellence Award Overseas Trip Scheme.
At 16, Vivian won 1st place in Singapore’s Get The Beat Competition, 2nd place at Asian Dance Arts Festival and 3rd place in the prestigious Asian Grand Prix Competition, receiving scholarships to the Kirov Academy of Ballet, Washington DC and Hong Kong Ballet Intensive Program.
Vivian subsequently joined the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts as a recipient of the HKSAR Scholarship majoring in Classical Ballet. With extensive performance experience in HKAPA's Till we meet again by Nguyen, Ngoc Anh, Le Classique Pas de Six by Ou Lu, Zhao Minhua and Stella Lau, Butterfly Lovers by Yuri Ng and Ivy Tsui. Vivian performed the soloist role in HKAPA’s La Bayadere - Kingdom of Shades. She had the chance to join Hong Kong Ballet’s Le Corsaire and Hong Kong Ballet Group’s La Sylphide.
Vivian was also chosen to represent HKAPA in the Royal Ballet School Spring Intensive in Hong Kong and was later offered a 100% scholarship to the Royal Ballet School Convent Garden Summer Intensive in London.
Vivian had the opportunity to work with internationally renowned choreographers and dancers such as Malgorzata (Gosia) Dzierzon, Riley Watts (Former William Forsythe Dancer) and Sandra Parks (Drexel University); and attended masterclass by Yannick Boquin, Fiona Tonkin, Hong Kong Ballet Repertory Workshop of Wayne Mcgregor’s Chroma and Justin Peck’s Year of the Rabbit.



Work Experience
Vivian has worked as a Ballet Teaching for the Jean M Wong School of Dance in Hong Kong from 2019 - present time. Ranging from teaching Toddlers class to RAD orientated classes to Open classes, Vivian has gained and collated a large range of skills on teaching ballet classes.

Vivian has also worked as a receptionist at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts's GYDP Programme. Gaining transferrable knowledge on organisation, communication and proof-reading.

Vivian has also worked as an online Ads Evaluator for Lionbridge. This has given her a opportunity to work with an analytical eye in the field of social media.
Vision
Vivian's passion lies in teaching and giving her knowledge to others. Vivian teaches Ballet and Contemporary dance mainly in English. If needed, Mandarin or Cantonese will be used.
From Toddlers classes, allowing the little ones to explore and enjoy dance and music to Vocational classes, for students who would like to achieve a higher level of dancing to Adult classes, to ignite the passion of dance in the non-dancer's heart.
